Antique cake lifter from WMF, silver-plated, historicism, founding period

This magnificent antique pie lifter from WMF is silver-plated and dates back to 1886 and 1903. The cake lifter shows an exceptionally beautiful pattern of shells, flowers and threads.

The size of the cake lifter allows it to be used for really large cakes or pastry parts and also as a cutlery for fish or meat. It was by no means uncommon to use these sumptuous cutlery for various dishes at the time. These pieces were treated like a family treasure, which explains its particularly good condition.

This lifter is still in its original box. A treasure with a treasure chest. An enrichment for each collection and a jewel on the coffee table.

A cake server offered the designers more opportunities to prove their skills. So the beautiful, haptic décor is not only on the handle. The decorations of the handle showing all the cutlery parts of this series continue on the shovel and are further formulated.
