This antique, silver-plated Art Nouveau cake server with WMF’s rose decor is something special. The beautiful rose décor shows cruciate ligaments and stylized skirts on the handle and also on the shovel. The rare, large pie lifter is stamped with I/O and WMF.

Cake servers, like some other large cutlery pieces, were among the fantasy cutlery. They offered the designers more opportunities to prove their skills. This is how cutlery pieces were created, such as this rare and beautiful cake lifter in the finished and flowery Art Nouveau style. Today, just as it was then, a showpiece on every coffee table.
